Companion (2007)

A campaign guide about education and learning for change in Diversity, Human Rights and Participation

Companion (2007) is a guide created in the framework of the Council of Europe’s Youth Campaign for Diversity, Human Rights and Participation “All Different – All Equal, 2006 – 2008”. The campaign aimed to promote diversity, participation and human rights through common action in more than 40 European countries. It sought to focus on both the various problems themselves and the methods, which could address them.

Designed to support campaigns, activists and educators, the guide is based on the approaches and methodologies of COMPASS – the manual on human rights education for young people.

Its content will introduce you closely to the goals, themes and methods of action of the campaign “All different – all equal”. It will give you nine interesting examples of group activities and will help you organize and prepare for educational activities and workshop modules.

At the end of the guide, you can find useful thematic publications of the Council of Europe, a list of various sites, as well as a brief summary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Social Charter.

*The guide is available with free online access in English and French on links below. There is also a Russian translated version from 2009.
