Human Flow is a German documentary film co-produced and directed by Ai Weiwei about the current global refugee crisis. In the film the viewer is taken to over 20 countries to understand both the scale and the personal impact of this massive human migration. Ai Weiwei went on vacation to the Greek island of Lesbos, where he saw refugees coming on shore and began shooting with his iPhone – this shocking experience inspired him to make a documentary about refugees and their agonizing journeys.
For this, the documentary is a personal journey in an attempt to try to understand the conditions refugees live in, and how our society responds to them, how humanity is nowadays looking at Human Rights and their value, and if people who are fleeing from their country, for whatever reasons, have enough help to continue to have a decent life.
The documentary focus on refugees, Human Rights, conflict, politics.
