Brit Gilmore (b. 1989) is an American woman who studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). Since she was 17 years old, after a trip she did to India, she knew she wanted to become a philanthropist and help homeless people.

She worked for around 7 years on the fashion industry but when she was fired from her job, she received a call from the company she had been volunteering in, called The Giving Keys. This company was founded by Caitlin Crosby in 2008 with the aim to provide jobs to help people transitioning out of homelessness. Brit was hired as a production manager and since then, the company has improved a lot. When Brit became the President of The Giving Keys, the company grew considerably because she added a deeper level of organization.

The aim of this company is to help homeless people get a job and also, their project is stamping metal keys with a meaningful word on it, transforming it into a necklace, an earring or a bracelet, so when a person buys it, he or she has the “obligation” of giving it to a person in need, no matter if it is a friend or an unknown person.

Many celebrities have bought products from The Giving Keys online, such as Oprah, Leonardo Di Caprio, Nick Jonas, Amal Clooney, etc. Moreover, many press companies have mentioned the company, such as Marie Claire, Forbes, Popsugar, Supersoul.tv, People, etc.
