This film directed by Clint Eastwood, tells the real story of a post-apartheid South Africa and the relationship between racism and sport. The film deepens in the relationship between François Pienaar, the captain of the National Rugby team “The Springboks” and the President and Human Rights activist Nelson Mandela in an intent to create a sense of unity in a divided country.
The film inspired in the John Carlin book Playing the enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that made a Nation shows the power of sport for the unity of a previously segregated society and how South Africa started a process in which all the South African start to feel as a part of the same society.
